VIDEO: ‘We Pray We Don’t Get Another Akufo-Addo As President’ – Akyem Asoum Krontihene

The Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, has openly criticized outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and declared his support for the incoming President, John Dramani Mahama.

In an interview with GHOne, Nana Abodade III expressed disappointment in Akufo-Addo’s performance, stating that he could have achieved much more given the resources and revenue available during his tenure.

The traditional leader further expressed his relief that Akufo-Addo’s term was ending and his optimism about John Mahama’s return to office.

“We thank God that the good Lord is about to give the mantle to President Mahama. As it is in Luke 10:29, Ghana has been stripped naked and Ghana is bleeding. The robbers have stolen all the goodies, so a good Samaritan has come to rescue her and put her in a good, healthy, and happy situation and also recover the loot that the robbers took,” he stated.

The Krontihene further criticised the outgoing president’s administration and his alleged disrespect towards chiefs.

“It was quite clear, but people couldn’t just realize it, and some of us are happy that his reign is over. A lot of the chiefs are happy. A good friend of mine who is also a chief told me one day, ‘Let’s see if he will come around and instruct chiefs to wake up to greet him.’”

“It is not a good legacy. He could have done more. He had so much revenue, he had so much he could have done for this country, and so we pray we don’t get another Akufo-Addo to be president of Ghana,” he said.
