Florence Debrah, popularly known as Maa Adwoa, has recounted the tragic passing of her fiancé, Chief Inspector Godwin Benibah, during their wedding ceremony last Friday at Akyem Anamase near Oda in the Eastern Region.
Florence, visibly distraught, revealed that the last time she saw Chief Inspector Benibah alive was on Thursday, December 26, 2024, when he traveled to Koforidua to remind invitees about the wedding. She said he also continued to the Police Headquarters in Accra to collect a special outfit for the ceremony.
On the day of the wedding, the couple prepared separately at the Anamase Hotel. Florence explained that as she was getting ready to be ushered into the ceremony, she heard wailing.
Upon inquiry, she was informed that the 46-year-old groom had collapsed and was rushed to the Anamase Clinic. Moments later, she was informed that Chief Inspector Benibah had passed away.
