The Ministry of National Security has issued a directive prohibiting the operation of drones during the presidential inaugural ceremony scheduled for January 7, 2025.
The restriction will be strictly enforced at Black Star Square or Independence Square and surrounding areas, ensuring the safety and security of dignitaries, guests, and the public.
In a statement issued on Thursday, January 2, the Ministry said the directive applies to all types of drones, including recreational and commercial devices.
This measure is part of heightened security protocols for the high-profile event, which will be attended by national and international figures, the statement said.
The Ministry stated that the restriction is essential to maintain a secure environment during the inauguration and appealed to drone operators to respect the directive and refrain from flying drones in restricted areas on the day of the event.
The Ministry reassured the public of its commitment to providing a safe and secure atmosphere for the inauguration and urged all citizens to cooperate fully with the implemented measures.
