A heated argument between Samuel Akurugu, a communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and Derrick Nii Loko, a representative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), took a dramatic turn on a live radio program in the Asunafo North District, resulting in a physical altercation.
The clash occurred during a discussion on hammers radio political show hosted by *Ahmed Tijani* about political tolerance and party activities in the district. Tensions flared after Akurugu accused the NDC of being a party synonymous with violence, citing recent incidents he claimed were orchestrated by the opposition party.
His comment did not sit well with Nii, who fiercely refuted the claim and demanded a retraction. The argument escalated as both communicators traded verbal jabs, with Nii accusing the NPP of deflecting attention from their own shortcomings by labeling the NDC as violent.
In the midst of the heated exchange, tempers boiled over, and the two men reportedly engaged in a physical altercation, shocking the station’s staff. The show was abruptly cut off as station officials intervened to separate the two but still continued on their way outside the premises.
The incident has since gone viral, drawing widespread condemnation from the public and political commentators. Many have called for greater decorum and professionalism among political communicators, especially when addressing sensitive issues in public forums.
