Allegations of Financial Inducements Rock Ghana Gas CEO Appointment Process – Ultimate Voice Sounds Alarm

A disturbing development has emerged regarding the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas).

The Ultimate Voice of the Western Region has intercepted information suggesting that the current Acting CEO, Engineer Dr Robert Lartey is engaging in maneuvers to compromise the transparency and fairness of the appointment process.

According to them, Engineer Dr Robert Lartey is actively mobilizing Nzema opinion leaders, financially incentivizing them to endorse his candidacy.

In a press release, the organization said it has heard reliable rumors that Engineer Dr. Robert Lartey is funding and planning a press conference for the executives of the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency to present him as the best person to fill the substantive CEO post.

 

They reject any endorsement engineered through monetary inducements, political patronage, or self-serving interests, emphasizing that the leadership of Ghana Gas must reflect the rightful participation of Nzema people.

The Ultimate Voice of the Western Region has intercepted disturbing developments regarding the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas). Our stance on this critical matter remains steadfast, as previously articulated in prior petitions. The ongoing developments are deeply troubling and represent an affront to the integrity of Nzema and its people.

Information available to us indicates that the current Acting CEO of Ghana Gas is allegedly engaging in maneuvers that compromise the transparency and fairness of this appointment process. Specifically, it has come to our attention that he is actively mobilizing Nzema opinion leaders, financially incentivizing them to endorse his candidacy. Additionally, we have received credible reports that he is financing and orchestrating a press conference by Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency executives to portray him as the ideal candidate for the substantive CEO position.

Furthermore, intelligence suggests that the Acting CEO, in collaboration with certain Nzema leaders who are pursuing their personal interests, has sought presidential approval concerning the Ghana Gas Ceo appointment. We understand that this request was rightfully dismissed by your esteemed office. This development reinforces our deep concerns about the undue influence being exerted to manipulate the appointment process in favour of an individual whose actions undermine the collective will and interest of the Nzema people.

Your Excellency, we extend our profound gratitude for your unflinching commitment to upholding the interests of Nzema. We appreciate your adherence to the principles set forth by the late President John Evans Atta Mills, who envisioned Ghana Gas as a lasting tribute to the legacy of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah. His vision was clear: Nzema must play a central role in the operations of Ghana Gas Limited.

The Ultimate Voice of the Western Region unequivocally rejects any form of endorsement engineered through monetary inducements, political patronage, or self-serving interests. Any endorsement of an individual outside the Nzema community for the Ghana Gas CEO position by groups, chiefs, or constituency executives does not reflect the true aspirations and consensus of the Nzema people. Such endorsements are orchestrated by individuals with vested interests, who have been promised positions and favours, and therefore lack legitimacy.

We reiterate our firm position that the leadership of Ghana Gas must reflect the rightful participation of Nzema people in accordance with the founding vision of the institution. We trust in your esteemed leadership to ensure that this principle is upheld, thereby safeguarding the integrity, autonomy, and strategic interests of Nzema in Ghana Gas operations.
Your Excellency, we remain confident in your leadership and commitment to justice, fairness, and equity in national development. We respectfully urge you to disregard any engineered endorsements that do not authentically represent the Nzema people.
