Constitution Review Committee Announces Stakeholder And Public Engagements – How To Participate

The Constitution Review Committee (CRC) has announced a series of stakeholder and public engagements as part of its efforts to gather nationwide input on proposed amendments to Ghana’s Constitution.

These engagements will include targeted consultations with experts and organizations, as well as open forums for the general public at zonal locations across the country.

To facilitate a structured review process, the CRC is inviting written submissions from thematic experts, public institutions, professional bodies, trade unions, civil society organizations, and political parties.

These submissions will focus on key thematic areas, including:

i. Lands and Natural Resources
ii. Decentralization, Local Government, and Chieftaincy
iii. Public Services and Enterprises
iv. The Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary
v. Independent Constitutional Bodies
vi. Political Parties and Governance Structures
vii. Social and Economic Rights, National Development Policy, and Discretionary Power

Submissions on these topics must be received by March 20, 2025, with specific deadlines for each category.

The CRC will also hold open public discussions in various regions to allow citizens to contribute their views. The engagements will take place in Accra, Tamale, Bolgatanga, Wa, Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Koforidua, and Ho, starting from April 7 through May 6, 2025.
