ODASCO Appeals For Infrastructure Support As New Headmaster Takes Helm

Mr. Eric Amoah was formally inducted as the new headmaster of Oda Senior High School (ODASCO), a co-educational second-cycle institution in Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipal District of the Eastern Region,

The occasion took place in the school’s assembly hall on March 7, 2025.

Until his new appointment, Mr. Eric Amoah was the headmaster of the Achiase Senior High School.

 

 

 

 

 

Pledge of Commitment

He was led by the West Akyem Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Raymond Baah Abekah, to affirm his commitment to the service in which he has been appointed to undertake.

The Rev. Raymond explained that the induction ceremony was symbolic of the church as a mission, to officially present the newly appointed headmaster before God and also to the church congregation under which he served.

 

 

 

 

 

Headmaster’s Vision Statement

For his part, Mr. Eric Amoah pledged to work with great zeal to make a positive impact on the development of the school.

He pledged to ensure that academic work, moral education, and religious training in the school would be lifted higher than the present standard.

 

 

 

He also called for God’s grace and the prayer support of the church to strengthen him in the pursuit of his duties and successful tenure of office.

On infrastructure, he stated that he is passionate about witnessing ODASCO flourish as quickly as possible. To that end, he begged the MP for the area, the education minister, and the municipal assembly to make significant investments in the school’s educational infrastructure so that it can earn a category “A” status in the next three to five years.

He also bemoaned the security issue on the school campus and urged immediate action to address it.

 

 

 

 

MP’s Remarks

The Member of Parliament for Akim Oda Constituency and the former Deputy Minister of Health, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, who was also present at the ceremony, promised that he would do everything in his power to boost school security in order to protect the students and teachers.

He also assured that he would always support the school in raising its flag to greater heights.

 

 

 

 

He stressed unity and hard work as the hallmark of excellence, adding that there is no need for him to lord his position over his subordinates.

He urged the new headmaster to work together with his staff and the school board to achieve the needed change and improve the academic performance of the students.

Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah asserted the minority in parliament will guarantee the safeguarding of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

He said they would be committed to making sure all Ghanaian children, regardless of their financial situation, have access to high-quality education.
