Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare Gets Nod As Otto Addo Unveils Attack-Minded Lineup for Ghana’s Clash with Chad

Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, are gearing up for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Chad, March 21 at 19:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Coach Otto Addo has announced his starting lineup.

The team is packed with attacking power, featuring some of Ghana’s most talented players.

Benjamin Asare, the talented goalkeeper from Hearts of Oak, will guard the posts for Ghana.

Benjamin Asare

Asare was called to the Black Stars for the first time in his career when Black Stars head coach Otto Addo named his squad for 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

The veteran goal keeper has been an outstanding addition to Hearts of Oak in the 2024-2025 season having registered 12 clean sheets in 20 league outings for the fourth ranked Phobians in the standings.

Asare got the nod over Lawrence Ati Zigi and Joseph Wollacott after impressing in training sessions held at the host venue for the crucial qualifier.

The Black Stars go into the game under a ton of pressure after a failing to qualify to the 2025 AFCON while failing to score a win in qualification outings.

However, the Black Stars have fared better in the World Cup qualifiers and a win over Chad moves Ghana into first place in Group I.

Schindler will also make an appearance, bringing his skills and experience to the table.

The forward line is particularly formidable, with Kudus, Semenyo, Nuamah, Iñaki, and Jordan Ayew leading the charge. This lineup is expected to pose a significant threat to Chad’s defense, and Ghanaian fans are eagerly anticipating a convincing victory.
