The NPP First Vice Chairman for Atwima Nwabiagya South, John Kwame Duodu (Sir John), has passionately appealed to the Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Hon. Sam George, to reconsider the decision to dismiss over 600 youth from Ghana Post.
Sir John expressed deep concern over the growing hardship faced by young people in Ghana, emphasizing that partisan politics should not be used to deprive hardworking youth of their livelihoods. He urged the Minister to rise above political considerations and act as a leader for all, stressing that his role demands fairness and inclusivity.
“The youth of this country have suffered enough in the hands of partisan politics. Hon. Sam George must avoid political victimization and instead play the ‘father for all’ role because not every young Ghanaian will have the privilege to become a Member of Parliament or a Minister like him,” Sir John stated.
He further questioned the fate of the dismissed workers, asking: “What do we expect these young people to do now? Should they return to the streets? How do we expect them to survive after struggling to secure this employment?”
As a dedicated party leader and strong advocate for youth empowerment, Sir John called on Hon. Sam George to reconsider the decision and show compassion to the affected workers.
He emphasized the need for fairness and job security, ensuring that the efforts of these young men and women to secure employment are not rendered futile.
