Residents of Maame Dede in the Upper West Akim District of the Eastern Region have come out in support of Mr. William Agbalenyo, one of the three shortlisted candidates for the District Chief Executive position.
Some individuals in the District have spread the myth that Mr. Agbalenyo is not a native of the area and, as a result, is unworthy of the DCE appointment.
Meanwhile, Maame Dede residents refute claims that Agbalenyo is an outsider, citing his birth and upbringing in the district.
Agbalenyo’s Background:
They contend that Maame Dede (Saani Village) is where Mr. William Agbalenyo was born and reared. In addition, also attended Mame Dede Methodist Basic School, Adeiso Presby Basic School, and later completed his junior high school education at Presby JHS. He furthered his education at Adeiso Presby Senior High School.
Community Involvement
According to them, Agbalenyo has been a long-time supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), providing sponsorship in cash and kind since 2010.
Residents of Maame Dede also reveal that Agbalenyo owns a private school in the district, offering free education to some party executives’ children.
“He is known for his philanthropic efforts, Agbalenyo has contributed significantly to the district’s development”, they said.
Community Testimony:
The residents’ testimony confirms Agbalenyo’s deep roots in the community, contradicting claims of him being an alien in the district. His educational background and community involvement demonstrate his commitment to the area’s growth and development.
Regarding the appointment of MMDCEs, they urged President Mahama and the party leadership to denounce any propaganda that disparages Mr. Agbalenyo.
Residents of Maame Dede in Ghana’s Eastern Region have rallied behind William Agbalenyo, a contender for the Municipal Chief Executive position in the Upper West Akim District.
