“Your Needs And Concerns Will Continue To Engage The Attention Of My Administration” – Akufo-Addo To NDC Supporters

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised to be a leader for all, assuring supporters of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), he will have them at heart, despite voting against him in the 7 December 2020 elections.

H.E Akufo-Addo addressing a National Thanksgiving Services of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held at the forecourt of the State House at Accra, said while he is grateful to the over six million, seven hundred thousand Ghanaians who voted for him, he can assure those who did not vote for him that their needs and concerns will continue to engage the attention of his administration.

“I want to thank the people of Ghana for maintaining their confidence in our leadership of the Nation, specifically the over six point seven million people who voted for me, but in singling them out, I also want to assure the six point two million who did not vote for me, that I will have their interest at heart and in mind in all that I do,” Akufo-Addo said.

 

Background

President Akufo-Addo and his Vice-President, Mahamudu Bawumia, got re-elected for a second term in office in the just ended 2020 general election after polling 6,730,587, representing 51.30% of the total valid votes cast as against 6,213,182 valid votes polled by his closest contender, Mr John Dramani Mahama, which represented 47.36%.
