He worked as a news presenter at the Accra-based radio station Joy FM in the Multimedia Group.
Sackey was born at Senya Beraku in the Awutu Senya District of Ghana, but moved to Accra with his parents at a tender age. He attended the Riis Memorial School for his elementary and junior high school education.
Sackey’s media talent was uncovered at the tender age of nine when he featured on the popular kids’ shows Children’s Own and By the Fireside, both on GTV.

He later hosted his own global affairs show, JS International Assignment, which later became The Jefferson Sackey Report, a first-class news documentary production, going beyond the headlines to tell in-depth stories and from many points of view.
The show, first broadcast on TV Africa, was syndicated on Joy News in Ghana and global news channels such as Afroglobal Television in Canada.
He served as the public relations officer for Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2006 to 2007, working closely with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, then foreign minister in the government of John Agyekum Kufuor.
