A Facebook user identified as Oda Citizen has shared a story of a young vibrant Ghanaian final year Student of Akim State University College – ASUC pursing BSc in Human Resources Management on weekends who sells Wheat porridge and sometimes pastries on street to pay her school fees
Perpetual Larbi (Wheat porridge Seller) is student of Akim State University College – ASUC in Akyem Asene in the Asene Manso Agroso of the Eastern Region of Ghana.
She hawks from Akim Asene through Akim Oda to sell porridge and sometimes pastries everyday.
Through the Facebook post, she (Perpetual Larbi) was invited to Akyem Aboabo based Ahenkan FM station to have an interview with the host of Adwuma Adwuma mid-morning show, Kwabena Costy.
She disclosed to Kwabena Costy that, “I had my basic education at Twifo Wamase in the central region of Ghana and later got admission to Accra High School in Greater Accra Region”. Perpetual got admission into Akim State College in year 2017 to pursue her BSc Human Resources Management.
“I started the business (selling of Wheat porridge and sometimes pastries) in 2018, that’s level 200. I got motivation from friends, families and customers because of the nature of the work as well as schooling challenges”.
“My Motivational message to the youth is that, with determination, focus, hard-work and perseverance one can succeed. So they shouldn’t give up, no matter the situation.
Very fortunately, the Member of parliament for Akim Oda, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah was also in the studio’s of Ahenkan FM, he therefore promised to help Perpetual Larbi the level 400 student at Akim State University College – ASUC who sells wheat porridge and pastries on the streets to pay her school fees
