A Ghanaian hiplife artiste Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, known in showbiz circles as Mzbel, has stated that recent development in Parliament is clear evidence that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) won the 2020 elections.
Speaking on Accra-base, Asaase Radio’s Between Hours show with Naa Ashorkor, the ‘I am 16 years‘ hitmaker condemned the brawl in parliament in the run-up to the election of Speaker for the eighth parliament.
“I feel like our democracy has been thrown away somewhere, because it is obvious and so clear that we (NDC) won the elections (2020). The presidential [election], especially we won but you see, I don’t know, I am not here for politics but we won,” Mzbel claimed.
She added: “And looking at what happened in parliament, it is clear that we won, but we all saw what happened in parliament, it confirms that we won.”
Mzbel, however, said the decision by the main opposition party to challenge the outcome of the polls in court is ideal, although she believes it will not change the verdict.

According to her, the NDC must work towards being extra vigilant in the next election.
The chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, declared Akufo-Addo the winner of the 2020 presidential elections on 9 December 2020 after defeating John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress.
However, the minority NDC has since rejected the 2020 results, describing the election as full of irregularities in some parts of the country.
