Youth In Afforestation Programme Threaten To Embark On Sit -Down Strike

Beneficiaries of the Youth Employment Agency’s Youth in Afforestation Programme are threatening to embark on a sit down strike to register their displeasure over delays in payment of their allowances.

The youth in afforestation Ghana wishes to inform the general public that by the end of this week if the government fail to pay them their allowances they will embark on sit-down strike until they are being paid.
In their statement signed by the leader of the group, Rev. Clement Asare (Supervisor) made it clear that the government is owing them from July till now.
According to them they are making good impact to the growth of this country and the forest reserve.
Also they stated that if the government want the forest reserve to grow and maintain it Greening Ghana agenda then the ministry of lands and natural resources should provide good working conditions for the youth in afforestation workers.
They also state that they are giving the government by the close of this week which is Friday if their allowances are not paid then Monday the sit-down strike will begin.
