The President of Citizen Watch Alliance – (CiWA) and an Anti-Corruption campaigner Mr. Amankwaa Nathaniel has pleaded to the President of The Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo not to scrap the Zongo Ministry in his second term administration.

According to him, the zongo Ministry was a significant instrument that succoured mainly the development of the Zongo Communities and people in it.

He argued that, some of the reasons to his plead is the forty (40) Zongo students who were given scholarships to study medicine in Cuba.

Again, he mentioned the building of Astroturf in some Zongo Communities and other livelihood programs which were brought to them through the Zongo Ministry.

The President might merge the Zongo Ministry with others but it efficiency and concentration on the Zongo Communities will be affected negatively because the merged Ministry will have several duties to discharge, “He said.

He emphasized that the implementation of national policies has been to the benefit of every Ghanaian but most Ghanaians in the Zongo Communities still depend on a very low standard of living that makes them more vulnerable than some Ghanaians in other communities.
