John Kumah Commissions Ultra-Modern Toilet facilities, Bathrooms And Boreholes For Six (6) Communities At Ejisu Constituency

A Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, John Ampontuah Kumah, has built and handed over an ultra-modern toilet facilities, bathrooms and boreholes to some six Communities in his constituency.

 

The beneficiary communities are Bonwire, Besease, Boankra, Donyina, Akokroamon, and Essienimpong.

The facility has a well-furnished office where the attendance would operate from and it has been also divided into two males and females. Additionally, there is a space where toiletries and other stationery that would be used at the facility could be kept safely.

The gesture forms part of the MP’s pledge to improve sanitation in the communities and also provide health places of convenience for constituents.

Speaking at the short but colorful ceremony to officially commission the project, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah bemoaned how the communities have been in the need of toilet facilities for over the years.

“Prior to my election as Member of Parliament for Ejisu, my assessment of my constituency revealed the lack of sanitation facilities resulting in various health challenges and community development problems. In fulfillment of my commitment to my constituents, on this day (Friday) of 21st January 2022, I commissioned 6 ultra-modern seater toilets, bathrooms, and boreholes at 6 different communities in the constituency.”

 

 

This makes it a total of 9 already completed beneficiary communities whiles construction is also ongoing in another set of communities, he added.

According to the MP, these projects have been done in partnership with private companies and funded 100% privately.

Hon. John Kumah added that this toilet facilities is part of his constituency cake project to avoid open defecation attitude. He appealed to the community to see the project as their property and take good care of it.

“Appreciation to all the Chiefs and people in the various towns who joined me for the handing over of the facilities”, he added

Speaking on behalf of the chiefs from the six communities, Nana Acheampong Akwasi lll, the chief of Boankra said they have been in dire need of toilet facility for so many years and this situation has been forcing them to engage in open defecation.

 

 

“The Member of Parliament for this constituency who doubles as the Deputy Finance Minister , Hon. John Kumah came and promised us of social amenities so I believe that this is one of it he has fulfilled his promise”. Nana added.

other chiefs also expressed their profound gratitude to the Member of parliament for the unflinching support given to the communities within his constituency.

Meanwhile; Hon John Kumah has stated that 30 Communities in Ejisu constituency will benefit from his Sanitation Facilities Project.

The Ejisu MP on his Facebook noted progress made to improve on sanitation conditions in Ejisu.

 

The 1 Community 1 Ultramodern toilet facility project is aimed to provide 30 communities with this facilities, In total, 9 out of 30 of the facilities have been completed and commissioned, with the rest at various stages of completion.
