Football enthusiast, Kwabena Frimpong has expressed his disappointment in the World Governing Football body, FIFA for ignoring Ghana’s legend Asamoah Gyan in the just ended draw in Qatar.

The group stage draw for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, running from 21 November to 18 December 2022, took place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre in the Qatari capital city on Friday, April 1, 2022.

And former Super Eagles captain, Jayjay Okocha and other football legends were invited for the event by FIFA.

Kwabena Frimpong who is the General Secretary for vibrant Kumasi Youth Association (KuYA) has indicated that he is disappointed in FIFA for ignoring Asamoah Gyan.

According to Frimpong, he was expecting FIFA to invite Asamoah Gyan for the draw following Ghana’s qualification and the records of the former Black Stars skipper.

“It is unfair and unfortunate for FIFA to ignore Africa’s all-time leading scorer in World Cup history, Asamoah Gyan, whose country has also qualified for the Qatar 2022 World Cup,” Kwabena Frimpong told Opemsuo Sports.

In furtherance, he called on the Ghana Football Association to decorate Ghana’s legends well, for them to be attractive for such captivating occasions.

“I think that the Ghana Football Association should also do well to package our legends by recognising them. This should be deliberate for the Football Association.”

Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan is Africa’s all-time leading scorer in World Cup history with six goals.
