The Ghana Airports Company has interdicted a security officer for attempting to conduct a pre-boarding search on the Minister of National Security, Albert Kan Dapaah.
Awudu Basit, the officer in question was assigned to the Kumasi Airport for airside patrol duties on Thursday, September 8, 2022 where he demanded and open search on the Minister was was coming out of the VVIP lounge on the afternoon of same day.
According to the company, the conduct of the Mr. Basit was an embarrassment on the Minister, creating a negative impression on the image of the company.
According to a letter issued for his interdiction on same day, the management has decided to investigate the issue to its final conclusion before his interdiction would be over.
Whilst on interdiction, Mr. Basit would be paid two-thirds of his monthly salary according to the management.
