The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has released a timetable for power rationing in parts of the country following the shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant for repair works.
The Ghana Gas Company Limited on Thursday announced that the plant will remain shut for the next two weeks for maintenance, adding that the development will interrupt power supply to parts of the country.
A statement released by ECG on Friday (31 March), outlined the regions and areas to be affected during the maintenance work from Thursday 30 March to Friday 7 April 2023, between 6.00pm and 11.00pm.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform the general public that, due to the maintenance works being carried out by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) at Atuabo, there is a power generation shortfall,” the statement said.
“In this regard, please find below a load management schedule from Thursday 30 March to Friday 7 April 2023, between 6.00pm and 11.00pm,” the ECG statement said.
