Sammi Awuku In Partnership With Akuapem North Constituency NPP Support Traders With Seed Money.

Director General of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) and one of the current emerging political icons in the New Patriotic Party, Sammi Awuku together with  NPP constituency executives has offered financial support to over 840 traders in Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern region.

Sammi Awuku with the support of the Microfinance and Loans Centre (MASLOC) mobilizes traders in the municipality for loans to help grow and expand their businesses.

The NLA boss averred that the financial support for the traders is not based on partisan lines but on all eligible businesses.

 

 

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Awuku explained that the financial support will help create abundant job opportunities and help reduce crime-related cases in the municipality.

He affirmed that he will support artisans, mechanics, hairdressers, and drivers for rebranded economic activities in the area adding that he will provide skills training to the youth as well.

He said that the government is aimed at supporting the youth with Technical and Vocational Education and Training, National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP), YouStart, and many other programmes in the country.

Awuku explained that the government is creating a conducive and business-friendly environment to stimulate enterprise activities and provide integrated national support for start-ups and small businesses.

‘‘I have been a former youth leader before and I know the weakness of the youth in the country,’’ he said.

He indicated that entrepreneurship has contributed greatly to the development of many countries in the world.

 

 

The chief executive of the NLA reiterates that plans are ahead to engage other artisans, like hairdressers, mechanics/fitters, tailors, drivers, etc. These strategies are put in place so that gradually it would rebound the economic activities in the area, enabling the youth to be economically productive to curb the crime rate in order to foster peace among the citizens. As a former youth organizer, he observes certain life challenges that confront youth in terms of frustration, depression, drug abuse, etc. Many of them are eager to have entrepreneurial skills, which have also helped turn around some parts of the world.

 

 

 

 

According to him “The government is doing so well in bringing on board COTVET, NEIP, USTART, TVET, GA, etc. I am also doing my best to link up some of the opportunities with the people in the constituency. I am also resolute in adding on more developments to what the current member of Parliament would hand over to me and all the former predecessors”.

 

He disclosed to help the youth entrepreneurship skills in the municipality after winning the Akuapem North parliamentary seat.

Sammi Awuku promised to change the face of the Akuapem North constituency with many developmental initiatives if the electorate elected him as a lawmaker.

He planned to pick up the nomination form when the party opens the opportunity for its members to contest in parliamentary elections.

The event was graced by some chiefs, traditional authorities and members of the New Patriotic Party in the area.

Ms. Linda Darkwaa, the constituency NPP women organizer who also serves as the field marshal, said that many women and business owners had complained about how difficult it was to get grants or loans to assist their ventures.

 

 

 

She prompted the party’s leadership, they made an effort to inform the aspiring MP. Eventually, they were able to convince MASLOC to give some money to traders, as everyone saw on this devoted day.

She keeps urging women to make use of the grants awarded to them in order to improve their businesses, families, and local communities.

Additionally, she urged them to constantly pray fervently for the blessing of all leaders who steer affairs to their favor, particularly Sammi Awuku, an aspiring and incoming MP.

 

 

 

The municipality’s mayor, Barima Awuah Sarpong Asiedu Larbi, also urged all of the beneficiaries to support the aspirant MP because he has done so well and merits to be welcomed.

The recipients were instructed to visit the bank the following day with their identifications and group leaders to immediately redraw their funds, according to a spokesman of the Akuapemman Rural Bank.
