Mr. Francis Ebenezer Doku, a Commissioner of Police and a traditional leader of the Atua Manya Agbasi Clan and Ofrititi Stool of the Aklomuase Division of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Asafoatse Odjeblema Angmortey I, has been appointed as a board member of the Tourism Society of Ghana, an esteemed tourism outfit in Ghana.
His role on the board will be to concentrate on tourism safety strategic development as well as building a sustainable cultural tourism immersion value among the youth in Ghanaian tourism.
In announcing the appointment in a letter copied to the Inspector General of Police, Ghana Police Service, Headquarters Accra, he said: “Many congratulations to COP Francis Ebenezer Doku, who has been an astute officer of excellence in the Ghana Police Service, with a finance and administration background for the past thirty-three years. His contribution to the evolution and growth of the police service has been exemplary.
Mr. Doku is a successful global leadership practitioner with keen leadership acumen and vast global exposure.
He believes in converting competition into collaboration, sees opportunity in crisis, goes the extra mile, and thinks outside the box.
Prior to his current position as the Director General, the Motor Traffic and Transport Directorate, Ghana Police Service, he perused and served in various capacities as follows: Director General, National Protection, Ghana Police Service IGPs Rep, Bawku Security Operations Deputy Director, Special Duties, Police Headquarters, Volta Regional Commander Ghana, Ghana Police Service Founder, Angmortey Yohunu Foundation Asafoatse, Manya Krobo Traditional Area.
Mr. Joseph Amartey, Executive Director of the Tourism Society of Ghana, described in his remarks the new challenges of the global travel market and depicted the institution of youth in tourism platforms in emerging tourism destinations as a sustainable tool for growth.
He added that Mr. Doku’s engagement with other board members, namely Madam Benedicta Yevu, Director, Cultural Education Unit (GES), Mr. Charles Buabin, Director of Product Development (GTA), and Mr. Ahmed Naaman, CEO of Dodi Travel and Tours, looks forward to incorporating varied strategic entities into TOSOGHA, defining its importance as a complete domestic tourism promoter for Ghana. Working closely with professional bodies, trade associations, and government departments, TOSOGHA ensures that each and every activity is targeted and relevant to industry needs.
As a result, it positions itself as a market leader in the West Africa region.
