Ga-North MCE Engages Media; Highlights Development Projects In The Municipality

Hon. Simons Sekyim, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ga-North municipality in the Greater Accra region, outlines several development projects he is leading in his area of jurisdiction.

First and foremost, he takes the chance to extend his sincere greeting to all of Ghanaians worldwide as well as to his municipality’s residents and constituents.

Prior to that, he has already met and spoken with the drivers, pasteurs, market women involved in small-scale commerce, and other significant individuals in the community.

He is going to meet fitters, a different acronym for mechanics, very soon.

According to him, this helps to gain additional knowledge about certain issues and the appropriate measures to address them.

He gave an overview of some of the projects, stating that the municipality will have finished developing two stunning school blocks in the Amenso and Mile 7 areas by next week.

In terms of education, the municipality operates thirty-three public schools, which include a JHS school, a kindergarten, a nursery, and also measures to open a senior high school at Amenso.

The California State Secretary and the nearby St. John SHS signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Through the assembly’s procedures, top-performing SHS graduates would be able to enroll in California University in the United States.

Ga-North Municipal is ranked sixth nationally and third in the region in the BECE performance index.

To begin transforming Ofankor Park into a contemporary communal astroturf, complete with a gym and fitness facility to draw in plenty of people for physical rehabilitation, there would be a sod cutting.

He says he hopes the recently elected Assembly members will work with community members to develop the the area so that it preferably lives up to expectations.

The percentage of the road network expanded from 9 to 36% in spite of many obstacles.

In order to forward the local development plan, he thus takes use of the opportunity to urge every resident of the municipality to pay taxes related to building licenses, market tolls, road tolls, property rates, etc.

During a courtesy visit by the media on January 9, 2024, he disclosed that the party had advised all higher-performing chief executives to maintain stability and aid the government in accomplishing its developmental objectives.

He expressed his willingness to comply with this advice.

The visit was intended to greet the media and inquire about his personal aspirations regarding the political contest to become a member of parliament in his constituency.

He is an ardent supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and he is aware that this year will be hectic with national elections in addition to internal party elections to choose parliamentary candidates to represent their individual parties and constituents in parliament.
Fortunately, the party selected the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumiah, as their presidential candidate.
He thinks the popular motto, “breaking the eight,” would be achieved.
He also believes the current MP will be kept in office come January 27, 2024, at the forthcoming NPP Primaries to choose parliamentary candidates.
In addition, he wishes a happy new year to everyone and thanks everyone, including the general public, his working crew, and everyone else.
