Whilst loved ones are celebrating the world over, tragedy has hit the Ghanaian media fraternity, the host of Boiling Point, a well-liked political talk show that aired on Accra-based Oman FM, has been reported dead.
Wofa Kwabena Kwakye died Wednesday, February 14th, 2024.
Wofa Kwakye reportedly died in unbelievable circumstances as he was in the studio this morning.
According to the report, Wofa Kwabena Kwakye passed away in the hospital after collapsing during a production at Oman FM’s Studio, an Accra-based affiliate radio station owned by Ken City Media.
However, he started feeling ill and sought medical help but then unexpectedly passed away.
It is anticipated that the family and the management of Ken City Media, headed by former presidential candidate hopeful for the New Partotic Party and the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, businessman Kenneth Agyapong, will formally announce his passing.
In addition to Boiling Point, M. Kwakye was a panel member on the National Agenda, an Oman FM morning show program, and filled in as host periodically when Fiifi Boafo was unavailable.
The late broadcaster previously worked as a Parliamentary and Presidential correspondent at Net2 TV and Oman FM.
Kwabena Kwakye was appointed to the Board of the Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) in 2017 by President Akufo-Addo.
The shocking news has stunned social media and the media fraternity.
