The Feldman family of Denyame has built a new two-unit classroom block for the Denyame Municipal Assembly (MA) Basic School in the Ahafo-ano North Municipal in the Ashanti Region.
The new block is to replace the school’s Kindergarten building.
Speaking to the media in an interview after the inauguration,Dr. Kwaku Annor, of the Feldman family and a retired headteacher in the United States of America (USA) said, the family decided to put up the school building following a request from the school authorities for assistance.
According to him, it had always been their desire to support education in the Municipality.
He said improving educational facilities was one way of creating a conducive atmosphere for both teaching and learning and was hopeful that the school would grow to achieve distinction in all areas of academic pursuit.
He urged pupils of the school to make good use of the facility and also encourage the management to ensure that the building was properly maintained.
The Ahafo-ano North Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Grace Oppong Agyapong said education played a critical role in the social-ecomomic development of any society.
She said as the country progressed, facilities that promoted qualitative teaching and learning, such as durable infrastructure, could not be left out.
She called on parents to always strengthen ties with teachers in order for the two groups to effectively supervise studies of children under their care.
The Headmaster of the Mr.Owusu Anthony expressed his kind gesture to Dr.Kwaku Annoh and the Feldman family for the developmental projects.
