The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) has introduced an entrepreneur, Elizabeth Sam, as the vice presidential candidate of the party.

The founder of the LPG, Percival Kofi Akpaloo, is the presidential candidate of the party for the 2024 presidential election.

The unveiling of the vice presidential candidate was done together with the manifesto launch in Ho on Saturday (September 21, 2024).

Elizabeth Sam is married with three children and she received a standing ovation from the crowd at the OLA Ho Assembly Hall when she was introduced.

She said she would valiantly support the LPG presidential candidate to ensure inclusivity and equality, as well as equal opportunities for all Ghanaians.

“I will also ensure that the implementation of the social contract that our manifesto has tabled would be realised through the institutional structures that already exist to give a better life to the citizens,” she added.

The pretty petite precious running mate urged the electorate to vote for Mr Akpaloo as their president for a better Ghana.

Launching the manifesto earlier, Kofi Akpaloo said it was time the NDC-NPP duopoly was broken to liberate Ghanaians from abject poverty.

The manifesto is on the theme: A better tomorrow, a new plan for jobs and wealth creation.

The LPG flag bearer said the most important resource needed for transformational change in the country was the people.

In that regard, he said, the LPG would set up a USD10 billion Jobs Fund, to provide start-up capital to young Ghanaians who were interested in private businesses.

“LPG is committed to making the investments to help all Ghanaians to reach their highest potential, and make our economy work better for every Ghanaian, no matter where they live,” Mr Akpaloo affirmed.

Touching on tourism, Mr Akpaloo said the LPG would push for a legislation to have all holidays fixed on Mondays or Fridays to have longer weekends.

He gave an assurance that LPG would pay Ghanaians monthly child maintenance and unemployment benefits, provide free university education, and fix all roads in four years, when given the nod.

Meanwhile, Mr Akpaloo said, LPG would help to build a new 21st Century national capital city in the middle of the country, to spur development, ease congestion, and promote jobs, unity, security, and prosperity.

The National Chairman of LPG, John Amekah, said it was clearly evident that Ghanaians were yearning for the better tomorrow stipulated in the party’s manifesto.
