Military Officer Reportedly Shot Dead In Bawku

A military officer from the 11 Mechanised Battalion reportedly died after being attacked by gunmen in Bawku.

The officer was said to have left his station without wearing his uniform and proceeded to another location, where the gunmen accosted and shot him.

The incident occurred around the Kpalore-Avengo area of Bawku township on Monday, 17th March 2025.

Residents of Bawku have been living in self-isolation based on their areas of residence since the re-emergence of the conflict in October 2024.

So far, about 75 people, including women and children, have been killed since the conflict reignited.
