Some leading National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs) have stormed the Assin North constituency in the Central Region to campaign for James Gyakye Quayson with a call on him not to entertain any fear but be firm.
In an exclusive interview with MyNewsGh.com reporter, Hajia Asana Gordon, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi East Constituency in the Oti Region, Mr Wisdom Gidisu disclosed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was doing a lot to frustrate Gyakye Quayson out of Parliament.
“A man at never fears bullets so we the Minority side whatever zeal, whatever support we will push Gyakye Quayson to retain his seat to shame critics will be done” he stated.
“NPP is doing a lot to frustrate Gyakye Quayson but it is God who ordains Chiefs. If God doesn’t ordain you, you can never do whatever you want; even if you go under the sea you will still not succeed. So by his grace we are going to win the seat together with Gyakye Quayson”, he assured.
“The NPP is fighting tooth and nail to ensure that they clear Gyakye Quayson out of Parliament in order to get a clear majority. We are very optimistic that will never happen because God is on our side to retain Gyakye Quayson’s seat” Gidisu disclosed.
According to him, the constituents of Assin North have decided to maintain Gyakye Quayson and strongly believe Gyakye Quayson will return to Parliament.
The MP for Biakoye Constituency, Mr. Kwadwo Nyanpon Aboagye also noted that even though he is not a lawyer; the government had made too many cases out of the Gyakye Quayson issue.
“Gyakye Quayson applied for renunciation of the Canadian citizenship but from my point of view I think that once the letter is received there is no turning back” he revealed.
On his part, the MP for Central Tongu Constituency in the Volta, Mr. Alexander Hottordza said he purposely came to Assin North Constituency to throw his support for Gyakye Quayson who is suffering from injustice.
“We realized that out of no fault of his, he is going through a lot with the judiciary troubling him. We feel he needs our support at this trying moment” he added.
“I will feel bad if am in his shoes that is why I travelled all the way from Volta Region to give my brother support for Justice and Development,” Mr. Hottordza said.
