On Friday 6th November, 2020 the indefatigable and visionary Member of Parliament for the Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon.Isaac Kwame Asiamah joined his DCE, Hon. Williams Yaw Darko to observe the National Farmer’s Day Celebration and awarded the many farmers who have productively excelled in their field of farming.
Speaking at the event,the Youth and Sports minister who is also the MP for the Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon Isaac Kwame Asiamah praised farmers for their wonderful contributions towards the development of humanity. He said, “but for our hardworking farmers,none of us could have gotten the energy to stand here and talk”. He further stated that if there’s any sector of the labour force whose activities have sustained the human race since the beginning of creation, then it is farmers.
He outlined the numerous programs and policies that the NPP government has instituted to ensure the betterment of farmers. He therefore called on the farmers to vote massively for the NPP government in order to enjoy those policies.
The Member of Parliament also used to occasion to eulogize the Atwima Mponua NPP Constituency Chairman,Mr. Marfo for having been nominated and awarded the best cocoa producer or farmer in the whole Ashanti Region.
In appreciating the good works of the farmers,the Hon.Sports minister gave each awardee a brand new 43 inch TV set in addition to the various items presented to them by the DCE.
The District Farmers Day Celebration was held in Achiase, a farming community in the Atwima Mponua District.
