Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s dynamic tour of the Volta Region continued on Thursday, featuring two significant events.
Kicking off day five in the Keta Constituency, he received an enthusiastic welcome from nursing trainees at the Keta Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
He concluded his visit with a massive “community connect” rally that energized supporters.
Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, a former deputy general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), speaking in an interview noted the warm reception Bawumia received.
He emphasizing that many are beginning to see him as a “God-sent” leader, a notion that some previously dismissed.
Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen highlighted that the NPP is making inroads in what has traditionally been an NDC stronghold.
He explained that the Volta populace has started to recognize the NPP’s efforts.
However, he cautioned the NPP not to become complacent in light of Bawumia’s warm welcome, urging continued hard work.
He praised Bawumia’s decision to honor the late S.G. Antor, a founding member of the NPP, by laying a wreath in his memory in Logba, Afadjato South Constituency.
Lawyer Nana Obiri noted that S.G. Antor played a significant role in shaping the UP tradition.
Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen remarked that while Dr. Bawumia is actively campaigning, the NDC seems unaware of his efforts, focusing instead on insults.
