Management of Accra Academy says it has involved the police in ongoing investigations following a disturbing incident on campus.

“It is understandable that this incident has caused alarm and worry among our parents and guardians, and we want to assure you that we take this matter very seriously,” the statement read
The video, which has caused alarm, shows what appears to be a violent altercation between several students.
The school clarified that the incident did not occur recently, but almost two weeks ago, on January 17, 2025.
According to the statement, it was not until the video surfaced on social media that the victims reported the event to the school authorities.
The school has identified all the students involved in the incident and has been in contact with their parents. Statements from some of the parents have already been recorded.
The school has confirmed that the student responsible for the act has been handed over to the police for further interrogation.

The students involved in the incident are day students and have been asked to stay away from the school while the investigation is ongoing.
The victims were reportedly attacked with the flat side of a machete that was brought from the perpetrators’ homes and not from the school’s premises.
The school has assured the public that the disciplinary committee is conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, and all relevant stakeholders will be informed of the outcome in due course.
“We are committed to ensuring that such an incident does not happen again, and we will take the necessary actions based on the findings of the investigation,” the statement concluded.
