Deputy Special Prosecutor, Jane Cynthia Naa Torshie Lamptey has been appointed as acting Special Prosecutor until a substantive one will appointed by President Akufo-Addo.
This follows the resignation of Martin Amidu last Monday after his appointment three years ago.
Ms. Lamptey is a lawyer with over 30 years standing at the Ghana Bar and former acting Director of Public Prosecutions.
Chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) Dr. Steve Manteaw has been reacting to her appointment saying the task is difficult, but trusts her to fulfill the committee’s aspirations.
