Akufo-Addo: NPP Has Much To Learn From Barbados Labour Party After They Swept All Seats In Parliament

The President of Ghana,  Nana Addo Dakwa Akufo-Addo has tasked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to learn from the Labour Party in Barbados after they swept all 30 seats in their legislature during the recent elections held in that country.

 

He said this while welcoming the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Motley to Ghana during the 65th Independence day celebration in Cape Coast on Sunday, March 6.

 

The Prime Minister was the special guest of honour at the event.

 

Mr Akufo-Ado said “I also congratulate you for your spectacular victory in the recent general elections in your country where for the second successive time your party under your leadership swept all 30 seats of your country’s legislature. Clearly, we in the New Patriotic Party have much to learn from the Barbados Labour Party.”

Prime Minister Mia Mottley for her part called for the protection of the democratic principles in Ghana and in all other African countries.

She called on states to resist persons attempting to remove constitutionally-elected governments from office

She said these while speaking as the special guest of honour at the celebration.

 

 

 

 

She said among other things “We have to work together in solidarity and fight the battles of our day challenges that there appears to be for whether it is the climate crisis that affects us or whether it is the spirit of war that is raising its head yet again or whether it is the obsession by some who have not been elected to take power from those who are duly elected.
