The chief of the Akyem Awisa Traditional Area in the Birim South District of the Eastern Region, Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III, has emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of Ghanaian youth.
Speaking to students in the district, he urged them to take their academic studies seriously and strive for excellence, as this will enable them to become responsible leaders and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III advised the youth to eschew all forms of irresponsible acts, including smoking and drinking, and instead focus on their education.
He stressed that education is the key to a successful future and encouraged students to take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way in school and society.

Donation
To support the students in their academic pursuits, Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III, who is also the Akyem Kotoku Akyempimhene, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, donated mathematical sets, pens, pencils, and other required items to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in over seven basic schools in the Birim South District.
The beneficiary schools included Awisa Presby JHS, Awisa Methodist JHS, Awisa Salvation JHS, Awisa Islamic JHS, Michael Preparatory School, Asawase Methodist JHS, and Atumtumerim JHS.
Inspiring BECE Candidates
The chief emphasized his commitment to advancing education, stating that the donation is an annual endeavor to support candidates for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
He stated that being by the side of the younger ones is always a pleasure and an honor, particularly during moments when they most need encouragement and support.
Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III encouraged the students to deal with and wash away the fear that comes with exams and to remain positive-minded and maintain a positive attitude.
Additionally, he counseled children to fear God and treat their parents and teachers with love and respect, saying that this would help them acquire more knowledge regarding education.
Eulogize
The students who received the donation expressed their gratitude to the chief for his kindness, and it is expected that this support will motivate them to perform well in their upcoming exams.
The gesture has been widely praised by members of the community, highlighting the importance of continued investment in education at the grassroots level.
