The second phase of the Youth Development Program has been organized by the office of the member of parliament for the Akyem Swedru Constituency.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The seminar, which is a component of Akyem Swedru MP Kennedy Osei Nyarko’s Youth Development Program (YDP), aims to give participants, particularly unemployed and young people, the skills they need to work for themselves.
The initiative is fully funded by the workaholic lawmaker for the Akim Swedru constituency.
Participants in the Youth Development Program’s start-up phase were trained in the manufacturing of baked goods, shampoo, ice cream, detergents, antiseptics, and cosmetic products.
The Swedru, Awisa, and Aduasa blocks were utilized for splitting the nine-day training for the YDP’s second phase, which began on September 25 and will last until October 4, 2023.
The participants in the second phase of the initiative were trained in the DSTV/MultiTV installation and construction of the Biofil Digester.
All interested participants in the DSTV and BIOFIL training programs will be given the knowledge and abilities necessary to become competent practitioners.
The beneficiaries were also introduced to the concept of environmentally sustainable practices in social entrepreneurship.
Additionally, each beneficiary received start-up materials.
DISCERN
Speaking to the press on behalf of the MP at training, the Akyem Swedru NPP Research Officer, Hon. Ernest Gyimah, said that so far, from all the blocks, a total of about 200 people have registered to participate in the initiative’s second phase.
He stated that the legislator’s effort was designed to help young people become self-sufficient so they could improve their lives and have an impact on the neighborhoods in which they reside.
He asserts that the MP is committed to fulfilling his promise to assist everyone in his constituency, particularly the least fortunate, in achieving financial stability and independence.
He was optimistic that the program would yield positive results, as many research studies have proven that apprenticeship training increases trade-specific skills and general job skills.
ESTEEM
Mr. Emmanuel, the installation engineer, urged the youths to take the opportunity to pursue higher education since it is a terrific way to prepare for self-employment.
Therefore, he commends the MP for establishing such a program and adds that the skills would help to reduce the high unemployment rate in the area and the country at large.
He advised the participants to approach the exercise with the seriousness that is necessary for a better future.
The beneficiaries emphasized how happy they were and praised the MP for his generosity.
