An aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Iddrisu Musa, popularly known as Musa Superior, has disregarded research allegedly conducted by the research bureau at the presidency.
As the election of the New Patriotic Party’s national executives’ election draws closer, research purportedly to have been conducted by the research bureau at the presidency tipped Stephen Ntim, John Boadu, and Nana B as leading and preferred candidates by the delegates of the upcoming election.
Speaking on the research, an aspiring General Secretary of the party, Musa Superior questions the basis for the research and described it as a propaganda piece, and a poor one.
“I think it is a propaganda piece and it doesn’t speak well of us as a country. I am not sure if the presidency is aware that such research has been commissioned. It’s very poor research and I am sure a group of people has just sat down to put all this information together probably to undermine the race and that’s not good for our democracy.”
He’s, therefore, asked his followers to disregard it and focus on the mandate ahead of them.
“And I have asked all my people to disregard it because this is a very serious contest. Looking at winning the elections in 2024 to continue with the good work of government; one of the probably most effective governments in our history as a country. So we are working together trying to mobilize the Ghanaian people to help us win the election and before we do that, we’ve got to get the right people who can go out and recruit the base of the NPP so that we can do the pulling and the push to get our presidential candidate to win the presidential election and I am looking forward to leading the exercise to secure 180 seats” he noted.
The research was conducted during the NPP National Delegates Conference, held in Kumasi from December 18 to 20, 2021, which was graced by NPP members from the 275 constituencies in the country.
The research, undertaken by top pollsters, reportedly sent out a staggering number of 4,000 questionnaires, which attracted 3,920 responses, representing 98 percent success rate.
The researchers mainly asked about which of the contestants were popular in the party and could therefore lead the NPP to make history in 2024 by winning a third consecutive national elections.
