The Queen Mother of Anyinam Kotoku and also Manwere Hemaa of Akyem Kotoku, Nana Bamfoa Konadu Yiadom I, has called on parents to demonstrate a high sense of responsibility in fulfilling their roles in raising their children.
Speaking at a durbar held on June 2, 2025, at the Anyinam Kotoku durbar grounds, she emphasized the importance of prioritizing children’s education over other expenses.
Nana Bamfoa Konadu Yiadom I, highlighted the inconsistency in some parents’ priorities, noting that they are willing to spend money on new outfits for funerals but neglect to contribute to their children’s education.

Donation
During the durbar, the Queen Mother donated mathematical sets to some schools in selected communities in the Achiase District of the Eastern Region.
The donation was made to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in five (5) basic schools, namely: Ayinam Kotoku R/C JHS, Ayinam Kotoku D/A JHS, Akyem Osorase R/C JHS, Akyem Osorase D/A JHS, and Akyem Bieni R/C JHS.
The mathematical sets will help students prepare for their upcoming exams scheduled for June 11 to 18, 2025.
Commitment to Education
Nana Bamfoa Konadu Yiadom I emphasized her commitment to advancing education, stating that the donation is an annual endeavor to support candidates for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
She highlighted the significance of standing by young learners during critical moments, saying, “It is always a joy and a privilege to stand beside our younger ones—especially at moments when they need our support and encouragement the most.”
Hearten
The Queen Mother encouraged the students to deal with and wash away the fear that comes with exams and to remain positive-minded and maintain a positive attitude. She told the candidates to step into the exam room with confidence and courage, knowing that they have the support of their community.
Reaction
Students and teachers of the schools that received the donation expressed their gratitude to the Queen Mother for her kindness.
Attending the kind gesture event, GES representatives from the Achiase District Education Directorate praised the contribution and acknowledged its influence on students preparing for their final examinations.
The gesture has been widely praised by members of the community, highlighting the importance of continued investment in education at the grassroots level.
