An aspiring Parliamentary Candidate hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region, Mr Charles Opoku has charge delegates of the NPP in the Constituency to endorse him as the Parliamentary Candidate for Assin North in the upcoming by-election.
Mr Opoku who is a businessman and an electrical Engineer reiterated further that he represents a new face of hope and aspiration for the people in the constituency, and therefore called on all constituents to support his candidature of the party in the impending by-election.
According to him, he is a development oriented personality and will there leave no stone unturn in changing the fortunes of all and sundry in the Assin North Constituency and Ghana in general.
He moreover stated that he would be propel by the fundamental elements of hard work, honesty humility, competence, and care which are basic recipes for quality leadership.
Mr. Opoku firmly stressed that he has established his contribution to the party and the constituents and when given the nod as the Parliamentary Candidate, there will be massive development project.
He disclosed that it was practically impossible for him to let his people down when given the nod.
Mr. Opoku hinted that he is already serving his constituents through social interventions policies to the needy youth, assisted in the renovation of some dilapidated school buildings in the constituency.
“I have resourced some schools in the area with computer labs, provided scholarships to Universities students including those on scholarship abroad, adding that those in the informal sector were not also left out.”
Touching on partnership, he promised to work hand in hand with traditional authorities in the area. administration as the Member of Parliament, maintaining that most MPs have failed due to poor attention paid to the traditional authorities.
Mr. Charles Opoku added that he is coming to change the history of the NPP in Constituency with policies and programs that seek to improve the livelihood of constituents when given the nod.
In an excusive interview with MyGhanaMedia.com, he stated categorically that he is not contesting the parliamentary primaries because of his personal selfish interest but rather to fight for the development of the Constituency through massive employment and infrastructure drive.
