The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dr. Boadi Herbal Center, Doctor Yaw Boadi Mensah has appealed to the government to support Traditional Herbalists in the country by providing them with Facilities for planting of Herbal Trees for future purposes.
Speaking to the press, Dr Yaw Boadi said the deforestation or cutting down of trees without replacement ( afforestation) has affected the Tradional Herbal Sector.
“Nowdays it’s difficult to get trees to make tradional drugs”
However, he added that, it will be good policy for the government to target that aspect to support us with some Facilities to grow more tress especially the ones that can be used to it for drugs as part of the newly Policy launched by the current government led by Nana Addo “The Tree Crops Development Authority Program”.
According to him, WHO,s agreement on the rules for the testing Africa herbal remedies to fight Covid-19 will help and empower tradional herbalists in Africa especially Ghana.
“Therefore I will urged the government to put in some implementation which will help to promote Tradional Herbalists in Ghana.
