Atwima Mponua: Chief of Nyinawusu Allegedly Involve In Galamsey

The Chief Nyinawusu, a superb town of Atwima Mponua district in the Ashanti Region, Nana Osei Tutu and NPP electoral area coordinator are allegedly involvement in illegal mining, popularly known as ‘galamsey’

 

In an investigation conducted by a Journalist in Kumasi, speaking to some residents in the area said, the Nana Osei Tutu has sold a family land to the NPP coordinator for that area to do illegal mining.

According to them, some members of the family reported the case to Toase Chief palace.

Again, the Chief made announcement to the general public to stop mining, directive from the  Nana Yim Awere Ababio, then he made ‘U turn’.

According to the information centre operator during announcement, the Chief would lose his stool, as warned by the Toasehene Nana Yim Awere Ababio, if he is found to engage in any form of illegal mining that has the potential of destroying water bodies and farmlands.

 

 

The investigation has further revealed that, the Chief and coordinator are the main people behind illegal mining activities in the town, but has ordered some miners to stop which is directive from Toasehene.
