Bechem United winger Augustine Okrah has thrown a challenge to Ghanaian referees asking to act boldly after their painful loss to the giants.
The Hunters slipped to a heartbreaking 2-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko in an epic week two tie at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday.
Bechem United after the game fumed at the performance of referee Gabriel Opoku Antwi complaining bitterly that, Ganiu Ismail should have been sent off after a harsh tackle on Emmanuel Avornyo.
Reacting after the game, Augustine Okrah in his return to the Kumasi Sports Stadium has dared Ghanaian referees to gather huge boldness and courage in taking decisions and also protect players from horrific tackles. He tweeted;
“Ghanaian referees should be bold & protect players. Anyway, we will take our chances next time.”
“Nice game today. I was elated to be back [at] Baba Yara Sports Stadium and thanks to the supporters for the warm reception. Congrats to Kotoko for the win,” he added.
Bechem United have picked three points after two matches and will host Elmina Sharks at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in the next round of matches.
