A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a communication team member in the United State of America (USA) Mr Owusu Afriyie , has cautioned the NPP to be very careful on whom they choose to lead the party in 2024.
According to him, Several names are trending on social media platforms showing interest in the party’s flagbearership race.
He said, all names displaying are potential and qualified party folks to lead the party ahead of 2024 but should be extra careful on some of those candidates.
Mr Owusu said, the vice President Dr. Bawumia has performed massively than any other vice president in the history of Ghana from 2016 to 2020. He added, the performance of the Vice president as chairman of the economic management team from 2020 to 2022 is not convincing by many Ghanaians though the situation is becoming better as the cedi begins to gain it strength.
“Bawumia has done well in our first term as leader of the economic management team but the current happenings looks scary”
He advised the NPP to prove they’ve the men and they should not risk presenting the vice president to face the former president, John Mahama.
He explained that, the voice of the people on the economy is trending faster and more than the developmental works of the government.
“Ghanaians are talking about the hardship, all market women are saying Bawumia economy is worse than before, do we prefer Bawumia wining on our ticket and loosing the general elections? We shouldn’t forget that the voice of the people is the voice of the Lord, let think NPP first”
” If Bawumia waits for Alan to lead the party in 2024, Ghanaians will call him to come at the right time after Alan’s industrial foundation but for now there’re so many question marks on him”
“I still believe we have the men that majority of Ghanaians trust in, let present them and save our party from opposition, I prefer being a slave in my own party’s government, he added.
