The Bosore District of the Church of Pentecost in the Ashanti Region recently celebrated its first anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its journey to spread the gospel and serve the community.
The church’s anniversary celebration included a breakfast walk and a clean-up exercise, which showcased its commitment to community service.
Speaking to Pent Radio, the District Head, Pastor John Afewuah, reflected on the challenges the church faced when it first began, noting that some community members were initially resistant to the church’s presence.
According to him, however, through perseverance and divine intervention, the church has not only stood firm but also gained the respect and appreciation of the community.
He pledged that in order to change the community, the church and the local leadership would keep working together.
Pastor Afewuah expressed gratitude to God, church members, and leaders for their unwavering support, which has been instrumental in the district’s growth and impact.
Meanwhile, the Queen Mother of Bosore, Nana Kyerew Akenten III, who took part of the anniversary activities, publicly praised the pastor and the members of Bosore District of Church of Pentecost for their massive contributions towards the community’s development and transforming people’s lives.
Therefore, she took advantage of the occasion to counsel young people in Ghana to abstain from drug use, emphasizing the detrimental effects it would have on their future.
The church’s commitment to community service and development is evident in its various initiatives, and it will continue to work with local leadership to transform the lives of community members.
