Residents of Kotokuom and its surrounding communities in the Atwima Mponua district of the Ashanti Region have expressed concern over the poor condition of a deathtrap bridge that connects to their homes.

According to them, the bridge has become a death trap and urgently needs repair or replacement.

Kotokuom, Kataatwea, Ataso, Akonkye, Manukrom, Anyinasa, Apramade, Saakrom, and other settlements are connected by the bridge.

Speaking with the residents, they appealed to relevant authorities to take immediate action to fix the bridge.

“We urge the government to prioritize fixing the bridge for us. It poses a significant risk, and falling off could result in loss of life” Krotinhen lamented.

The residents lamented that the bridge has been in a dilapidated state for almost five (5) years, yet they continue to use it daily.

“We have repeatedly brought the issue to the attention of the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Isaac Kofi Marfo, and Member of Parliament, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, but it hasn’t been addressed.
