The Board of Hearts of Oak is reportedly considering the imminent appointment of the Dutch trainer, Huub Stevens for their next season’s campaign.
Hearts of Oak head coach, Samuel Boadu is set to be axed by the club’s board of directors following their unimpressive performance in the just-ended season.
Despite guiding the Phobians to clinch their 12th FA Cup title after defeating Bechem United last weekend, Samuel Boadu’s tactical brilliance has been questioned by some board members.
Boadu has aided Hearts of Oak to clinch five trophies since arriving at the club in March 2021.
The Hearts of Oak board of directors are in advanced talks with former TSG Hoffenheim and Schalke 04 manager Huub Stevens for the coaching role.
Kickgh.com understands that Stevens will be appointed as Hearts of Oak’s director of football to supervise first-team duties and also serve as technical director for the club’s youth teams.
Stevens, who has handled several clubs in Europe including Red Bull Salzburg, FC Koln, Hertha Berlin, VfB Stuttgart and TSG Hoffenheim, has been unattached since December 2020 after leaving his role as interim coach at Schalke 04.
Hearts of Oak ended their 2021/22 season’s campaign as champions of the MTN FA Cup competition after beating Bechem United 2-1 in the final.
Hearts of Oak will be representing Ghana in the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup slated to commence in September.
