Dr. William Atta Owusu Resigns From NDC

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr William Atta Owusu, has resigned from the NDC after what he says is the party’s decision to “shamefully” disown him as a member after his long years of service in the NDC.

“I, Dr William Atta Owusu, am left with no choice but to tender my resignation from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), effective immediately.

“After dedicating years of service to the party, I have been shamefully disowned and dismissed by the very same individuals who benefited from my tireless efforts,” Dr. William Atta Owusu wrote in a post announcing his resignation from the NDC.

“Their cowardly attempt to distance themselves from me exposes the party’s true nature – one of deceit, betrayal, and ingratitude. I will not continue to be associated with an organization that so readily discards its loyal members.

“My resignation is a testament to the party’s toxic politics and its disregard for the well-being of its own. I will always stand by my principles and values, even if it means standing alone. Farewell, NDC. Your loss is my gain,” Dr Atta Owusu’s resignation post further read.

In a recent video circulating on social media, Dr. William Atta Owusu appeared on Kessben FM, and while discussing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 24-hour economy policy, he made some wild claims that have ridiculed the entire policy initiative. The viral video also sparked widespread discussion and confusion regarding Dr Owusu’s affiliation with the NDC.

Abass Nurudeen, the Ashanti Regional Communications Officer for the NDC, subsequently released an official statement to clarify the situation. According to Nurudeen, Dr Owusu is not a parliamentary candidate nor a member of the NDC’s regional communications team and media houses should desist from engaging him to speak on behalf of the NDC on their networks.

“My attention has been drawn to a video in circulation in which one Dr William Atta Owusu is seen on Kessben FM offering bizarre explanation of the transformational 24-hour economic policy of the NDC

“For the records, Dr William Atta is neither a parliamentary candidate nor a member of the NDC’s regional communications team that I lead. The views expressed by him on the 24-hour economy policy don’t in any way represent the position of the party,” Abass Nurudeen said in the release.

The NDC in the press release urged all producers of various political talk shows in the Ashanti Region to stick to the approved list of communicators sanctioned by the party in inviting representatives of the NDC to their programmes.
