E/R: Chief Appeals To Govt For Flagship Projects

Nana Obeng Akari Asiedu II, the newly enstooled chief of Bontodiase in the in Akyemansa District, of the Eastern Region,has made an appeal to the government to assist in resolving the community’s long-standing issues with unemployment, roads, infrastructure, water, health and needful in the lives of a people.

He pointed out that Bontodiase is still beneath in development and urged the government to assist his people as urgently as possible.

 

The community has been renting apartments to be used as CHPS compounds for a number of years, according to Nana Obeng Akari Asiedu, prior to deciding to build a new facility.

He laid out that insufficient clinical staff and infrastructure at the CHPS community compound impede the efficient provision of healthcare services.

Thus, while the community is building a new CHPS compound, he is pleading with the government and the Ministry of Health to provide the necessary equipment.

 

 

 

He explained that the Bontodiase town roads have been abandoned for some years, and due to the dust, many residents in communities along the road are experiencing respiratory problems.

He urged the government to send the contractor back to complete the road to facilitate smooth transportation and save suffering residents from respiratory problems.

In an additional appeal, Nana Obeng Akari Asiedu II, throgh the secretariat of “One District, One Factory” urged the government to set up a factory in his community. This would spur economic growth, hasten the development of those areas, and create employment to help alleviate the dire unemployment situation.

He said that he and his people have earmarked some good-sized acres of land ready to be handed to the government towards its vision of developing deprived communities in the country.

 

 

He asked the district chief executive (DCE), Paul Asamoah, and the member of parliament, Hon. Kojo Vincent Oppong Nkrumah, to reply to their calls whenever they required development-related assistance.

Nana Obeng Akari Asiedu II expresses gratitude to the Bontodiase people, ekona Royal Stool, and the elders for enthroning him as the community’s chief.

Additionally, he committed to doing everything in their power to further the development of the Bontodiase community in collaboration with his queenmother and the elders.

It will be recalled that the Ekona Royal family of Bontodiase in the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area declared on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, that they had carried out a traditional ceremony to depose Obrempong Adakwah Gyamenah II as Chief of Akyem Bontodiase.

The kingmakers had to install a new chief for the Akyem Bontodiase as part of this regrade.

Nana Obeng Akari Asiedu II was flanked by kingmakers (ekona family members of Bontodiase) who took turns to swear allegiance to him on Thursday, 6th June, 2024.

Although the town was calm and peaceful, armed police officers were positioned at vantage points to maintain law and order.

The main Bontodiase township was greeted with joy and ecstasy when he was carried on his shoulders and paraded through the principal streets amidst dancing and shouting.

Speaking to some of the kingmakers, they charged the new chief to work hard to bring development to the area.

He specifically asked him to pay critical attention to education, health and unemployment.

They also advised him to keep in mind that he was installed to serve the people of Bontodiase.

“We don’t exepect him to be power drunk. He have been installed to serve your people in this community. As a chief, you have a very difficult task to execute and we belives that he ready to serve”.

Some of the youth also pledged to bury their differences, forge ahead in unity with the new chief and push for the development of Bontodiase.
