Lesbianism, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender ( LGBT) has been a bane in Ghana for ages. Ghana is seen as a staunch Christian country and being ingrained in the biblical teachings hence objecting to anything that contravenes with the Bible.

In the past, LGBT was illegal globally until some people emerged to advocate for its legalization. Their argument hinged on “human rights” this their being impeded from exercising their rights without taking into consideration the moral and biblical implications.

Those who are spearheaded the legalization of LGBT are pulling their strings behind the scenes to make sure it trickles down to the other countries in the world of which Ghana has been one of the main target.

As a country we need to enacted laws to criminalise holding oneself as an LGBT person in public,a firebrand communications team member of the ruling party, New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region, Dr Nana Yaw Agyenim Boateng  lamented in an exclusive interview with MyGhanaMedia.com.

He said ” those who hold themselves as LGBT person, we should enact law to prevent them so they may not even have the audacity to hold themselves as LGBT as they are doing currently”.

Dr. Agyenim-Boateng, also stated  that the law does not prevent anyone from holding him or herself as a LGBT person but prevents anyone engaging in the act. It makes the law so soft in the sense that we can not in any way prevent anyone who comes out boldly to hold him or herself as a LGBT person.

That is why am pleading with our leaders as a matter of urgency, enact a law to deter them from holding themselves as LGBT, Dr Agyenim-Boateng added.
