The management of an Eastern region based Ahenkan Fm in collaboration with Oda Community Hospital on Sunday, 20th June 2021 offered free health screening for over hundreds of fathers at Akyem Aboabo and its environs as their token for the celebration of 2021 Fathers Day Celebration.
The program dubbed “M’AGYA PA Mo” was targeted to offer free health screen to fathers at Akyem Aboabo and its’ surrounding areas because the farmers shuttle from home to their work places and had little time to seek medical attention to know their medical status.
According to the General Manager Mr Otu Acheampong ,the managent deem it a corporate social responsibility to honour fathers’ with health screening to let them know their health status.
The program was successful attracting over hundreds of fathers in the catchment areas such as Oda, Aboabo, Asene , Wenchi, Manso, in the (Eastern Region) and its environs among others
Mr Otu opined that fathers go on their daily activities all year round in their quest to feed the family without going for medical check ups.
“In most cases our fathers who are the bread winners are strikes by various disease that could have been prevented and treated if diagnosed early, “he added.
He said so far 100s of fathers has been disease screened with diseases such as diabetes,premature ejaculation,impotence,headaches,blood pressure and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.Those screened were offered half the cost of the drugs administered.
Meanwhile, Head of event and planning team of the radio station, Obouba Ofori Amanfo, stated that his outfit will not make it a nine day wonder.
Ahenkan Fm reporter spoke to the Chief Executive Officer of Oda Hospital, Mr Alexander Akwasi Acquah who double as MP for Oda Constituency , said that his company deemed it reasonable to collaborate and sponsor “M’agya Pa Mo” Free Health Screening For Fathers because when fathers attain age sixty they go through health conditions such as diabetes,high blood pressure and other illnesses which they may not be aware.
“Sometimes these fathers’ do not get proper care from relatives and children who might have grown and gone out from the family “
The CEO also next year the company will share so many goodies on fathers’ day to reward our fathers’
