The Bono East Regional Director of Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Madam Cecilia Kagya has said the country will not experience any shortage of food in 2023 as many Ghanaians are suggesting.
“We thank God very much that this year the country has experience a long range rainfall which is clear a indications that crops like Maize, Rice, millet and others will yield well”. She indicated.
Madam Cecilia, commenting on the theme for this year’s farmer’s day celebration, Planting of Food and Job, Consolidating food systems in Ghana said the introduction of President Akuffo Addo’s Government flagship programme planting for food and Jobs has supported many farmers with improved seeds and Agro inputs which has shown that farmers in the country are now putting up much efforts to ensure that the country has enough food to feed its citizens.
“Ghanaians will have enough food to eat next year and prices of food will not go high”. She stressed
Madam Cecilia Kagya made this known when she was speaking in an interview with Kwadwo Ofosu Baffoe (K.O.B) on ASTA FM Kokrokoo morning show in Techiman, Bono East Regional Capital.
Madam Cecilia Kagya praised farmers in the country and wished them happy New Year as plans are far advanced to celebrate this National farmers Day at Cape Coast in the Central Region, and all District and Municipal in the country on 3rd December, 2021
She finally urged farmers to continue to work hard so that they can feed the country every day.
